Alani stood nearby with a huge smile plastered on her face.

“Congratulations,” she said.

“Thank you,” he said, still catching his breath.

His exhaustion concerned her. “Are you okay?” she asked.

Balt hoped she would not have to continually ask that throughout this journey. “Yeah,” he answered. “Just tired.” He let out a deep sigh.

But then he smiled.

He officially had his second Jekua.

It was a weird, elastic, pooping worm, but still.

He had another Jekua.
